“Wow! Gus loves Mount Pleasant and Central Michigan University! Gus Macker Basketball Tournaments have just celebrated 36 years of dribbling across the country, but we’ve always dreamed of laying in Mount Pleasant on the CMU campus. The Convention and visitors Bureau made it happen by bringing together university administrators, college students and business leaders to test-market this new college and community based event. Our goal was to create a family-oriented sports festival, with a college twist. Mount Pleasant provided the perfect “model” community for this project, rolling out the red carpet for Gus Macker players and their families. The personal touch, hard work and dedication of the CVB staff provided us this opportunity. We couldn’t be happier with the results. Our hope is that Mount Pleasant’s “model” festival can be duplicated in various schools/communities throughout the nation. Thanks Mount Pleasant Area Convention & Visitors Bureau for bringing your ‘A-Game!’ ”

“The City of Mt. Pleasant is quickly becoming one of the premier destination spots for running disc golf events in Michigan. Located within Deerfield Nature Park are two scenic and challenging disc golf courses that draw people from all over the Midwest, and beyond. Pair this venue with an outstanding staff at Isabella County Parks & Recreation, an extremely passionate Mt. Pleasant Disc Golf Club, the Mt. Pleasant CVB who is always friendly and eager to help, and numerous hotels and restaurants nearby; and you have a location where you can end your search for the perfect disc golf tournament venue.”

“As tournament director of the Michigan Amateur Softball Association(MASA) Girls Fast Pitch State Tournament, that annually hosts up to 130 teams in the Mt. Pleasant community, it has been a pleasure and honor to work with a group of such dedicated professionals. The Mt. Pleasant CVB is a key partner in the operation of the tournament and has made scheduling of facilities and lodging seamless and hands off. The small town friendliness and big league experience that visitors receive from the Mt. Pleasant community and Mt. Pleasant CVB has been instrumental in the City of Mt. Pleasant being awarded the State Tournament for the past 7 years. It is without question, that the relationship we have with the Mt. Pleasant CVB has made the MASA State Tournament a success and a destination for teams every year!”
– Steve Hofer, MASA Girls Fast Pitch State Tournament Director
