June 1st, 2016

June 1– Head to Downtown Mt. Pleasant and check out over 40 hand painted Adirondack chairs and tables that will be auctioned off on June 11 for Chair Affair!

June 2– Today is the first Farmers’ Market of the year. Stop by Island Park from 7 a.m.- 2 p.m. for locally grown fresh produce, flowers, and more. 

June 3– The Special Olympics Michigan State Summer Games start today! Catch some of the events going on at Central Michigan University and cheer on these amazing athletes.

June 4– The Steam Engine Railroad Institute will also be running the Pere Marquette 1225 excursion from Mt. Pleasant to Cadillac during Back to the Bricks. Seats are limited!

June 5– Catch the Broadway Theatre’s showing of Pygmalion from 2-4 p.m.

June 6– Try Art Reach of Mid Michigan’s Painting in Abstraction class from 6-8 p.m. on June 6th, 13th, and 20th.Spray Park

June 7– Make a splash with the kids this summer by taking them to Island Park’s Spray Park.

June 8– Every Wednesday from now through September you can head to the Isabella County Fairgrounds for some flea market shopping.

June 9– Tonight you can grab dinner at Pixie while also enjoying one of their classic car summer cruise nights!

June 10– Join Art Reach of Mid Michigan and Helios Art Gallery in Downtown Mt. Pleasant for a special second Friday event. The galleries will be open late and will be offering light refreshments and hors d’oeuvres for you to enjoy.

June 12– Get creative at The Painted Turtle and paint some of your own pottery!

June 13– The Summer Reading Club at the Chippewa River District Libraries starts today- stop by Veteran’s Memorial Library for a good read.

June 14– The weather may be getting warmer, but the Chippewa River is still nice and cool! Grab a tube and make a splash on the river.

June 15– See the art work of Tim Billman and Laura Coffee at the Morey Family Gallery at Art Reach of Mid Michigan.

June 16– Catch Florida Georgia Line live at Soaring Eagle Casino tonight! You can also head to Downtown Mt. Pleasant’s Thrilling Thursday Event: Yogapalooza from 6-8 p.m. where you can enjoy free yoga classes, henna tattoos, see life coaches, and enjoy some fresh smoothies.

June 17– The Food Truck competition is on! Head to CMURC for Food Truck Friday, where two trucks will face off each week from 11 a.m.- 2 p.m.

June 18– Take the kids to the Discovery Museum from 10 a.m.- 12 p.m. for a special Kids and Culture event! You can also check out Nato Extreme Warriors at the Soaring Eagle Casino tonight. 

June 19– Happy Father’s Day! Hit one of the area’s many local golf courses with Dad today.

June 20– Today marks the first day of summer- celebrate with a picnic or barbecue at one of the local parks.

June 21– Learn something new at the Food Preserving Basics Class at the Isabella County Building from 5-7 p.m. tonight.

June 22– Support the Mt. Pleasant Rotary Club during their 5K Run/Walk today at 6:30 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant City Hall.

June 23– Tonight is the first Max and Emily’s Summer Concert of the year! Olivia Millerschin will be performing at 7 p.m. in Downtown Mt. Pleasant.

June 24– Do some shopping at the Mt. Pleasant Garage Sales are today and tomorrow and then visit the Mt. Pleasant Speedway for a Friday night race! CSC_1513_2

June 25– Grab the kids and head to the Grand Opening of Friendship Field at the Discovery Museum from 4-7 p.m.

June 26Festival of Banners is happening now, drive or walk around Mt. Pleasant and see all of the area’s awesome artwork.

June 27– Rock out and enjoy live music by Eric Rohman at Rubbles tonight.

June 28– Take a stroll through the audio tour at Chipp-A-Waters park today.

June 29– Get outside today and take a hike along the GKB Riverwalk Trail.

July 1– Have some fun at Dirt, Spurs, and Thrills from now until July 4 at Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort! Enjoy a carnival, monster truck show, rodeo, demolition derby, and a spectacular fireworks display on July 4.

July 2– Get the family together for a Bike Parade and Family Challenge Games at Coldwater park today!

July 3– Compete in or cheer on the competitors in the Mt. Pleasant Disc Golf Tournament today from 8 a.m.- 3 p.m. at Deerfield Nature Park.

July 4– Happy Independence Day! Celebrate with your friends and family today and don’t miss Soaring Eagle Casino’s free Fireworks Display.

July 8– Art Reach of Mid Michigan and Helios Art Gallery are teaming up again for another Second Friday Event. The galleries will be open late with refreshments for you to enjoy. You can also celebrate Weidman Days with a free performance by Jedi Mind Trip at 7 p.m. outside of Newcombes Restaurant!

July 9– Utilize your artistic side at Deerfield Nature Park today during their Nature Drawing Series.

July 23– Bring your creative side to the second Nature Drawing Series at Deerfield Nature Park. Tonight you can also head to Mountain Town Station for a special Murder Mystery Dinner under a tent behind the garden, starting at 6 p.m.!
